Most
if not all of us knew Ed at the Academy, where he served as our class Vice-President
and our fall semester Cadet Wing Commander. After graduation it was off to Craig
AFB for pilot training, where Ed and Karen were married and together began their
36 ½ year Air Force career.
Their
Air Force journey included tours in Vietnam, CONUS, Europe, and Japan. Commands
included USFJ/5th Air Force, ACC, Air Force Space Command, US Space Command, NORAD,
and NORTHCOM in the wake of 9-11. Staff experience included Executive Officer
to the Air Force Chief of Staff, J8 on the Joint Staff, Director of Operations,
Headquarters USAF, Vice Chief of Staff and acting Chief of Staff USAF.
Ed
and Karen have always been there for our class. They have hosted the 68
East Coast Reunions and Ed served as our spokesman for the Recognition Ceremony
for the Class of 2008 (our legacy class) and during our 40th Reunion he spoke
at both the FAC Ceremony and at our Memorial Ceremony.
The
Class of 1968 is proud to announce that Ed was selected as one of the Distinguished
Graduates for 2010. Each year, the AOG selects two members for this prestigious
honor. He received his award along with Max James, 64
during at the Founders Day Banquet on April 1, 2011. Click here
