The Bailey Family 2009 Holiday Letter

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Cathy & Brooke Bailey

We hope that you have had a good year. We have survived the economic downturn—so far. And, have been blessed with good health as have our children.

Liz, Brent, and family (Catey, Paige, Sam & Will) are still living in Charlotte, NC, and we see them often. All the children want “to go boat ride” in Granddad & Nana’s boat. Liz is (more than) a full time mom and Brent is with Wells Fargo—formerly Wachovia. We hope they will be able to remain in Charlotte, and keep our fingers crossed.

Cathy branched out and took a course in hand built pottery in the NC mountains this summer (along with two sisters doing painting) and thoroughly enjoyed the week. She hopes to be able to continue with it. Her clothing sales are down a bit, but what isn’t. Spending time with her mother, Kay, is also an important part of her life. And, knitting sweaters for four grandkids really keeps her busy. She’s threatening to take up golf again.

Brooke’s flying days seem to be about over. He delivered the last plane he was flying to the new owner in Mississippi in June—the other one sold the previous October. They were both part time jobs and fun diversions, but he still misses it. So, golf has moved up several notches in his priorities (if that was possible). He’s been to Pinehurst, NC several times with friends this year. And, he just returned from a wonderful ski trip to Aspen with another friend and may go back in January.

We've not traveled many times this year. Other than a wedding in Atlanta, visiting the kids, the Air Force/Navy football game in MD, and the few others mentioned above, we’ve stayed home.

We are grateful for the tremendous sacrifices of our troops and their families and wish all of them well.

Here are a few of our pictures:

Best wishes to you and your families.

Cathy & Brooke
