The Bettencourt Family 2011 Holiday Letter

Merry Christmas 2011 and Happy New Year 2012

We hope everyone has a holy Christmas and wish you blessings in the New Year.

Aria is managing a movie theater in Pittsburgh. Nadia graduated this year and was selected by Teach for America to teach 4th Grade in Memphis. Natasha is a junior and honor roll student at USC, Columbia.

Kim's massage business (Massage Therapy, Inc.) continues to do well, but the paperwork and overhead is wearing thin. It’s now on the market for sale. Check it out at www.massagehiltonhead.com.

In May I took my sister, Rochelle, to visit friends north of Atlanta and took a leisurely path up to NE Georgia and 2 lane highways back to Savannah visiting old haunts..

Kim and I, also, spent 4 days in Atlanta at a National Massage Conference in late May. We had a nice visit with my good high school friend, Mike Hurst, and wife, Dr. Ellen Hurst.

Later in the summer I rendezvoused back in Atlanta with Mike and our good friend, Rick Zwicknagel. We revisited some of the scenes of our high school "adventures," had a nice visit with Millie Pryles (widow of our other best friend, Vic), and had a great time exchanging fond memories many of which were actually true.

For Thanksgiving we went to Wartrace, TN to spend the holiday with Kim's sister, Nadine Wolfe and her family. Natasha went with us and Nadia drove over from Memphis. We got to see great-nephew Silas Campbell for the first time. It was a great time with family, but missed Aria, who had to work the holiday.

The shows must go on, so Aria will spend Christmas with our local friends John Lewis and Maria Pasquerelli, who will be visiting their family in Pittsburgh. Otherwise, everyone will be home for Christmas. Nadia's long time boyfriend, Kent Motes, will visit us from Sarasota, FL where he works.

For thrills we had 3 collisions this Fall, but everyone is well. Nadia and Aria had rear-enders in their respective locations and Manuel met a deer close up on Hilton Head, but she seemed to scamper away unscathed. Total damage between the three was about $10,000, so ya'll drive carefully.

Manuel finished his six year tenure on the Savannah River Site Citizens Advisory Board and spent a short time filling a chair on the board of our local Habitat for Humanity this year.

Kim and Manuel plan on a trip to Pittsburgh early in the new year and there is consideration being given to an Alaska cruise later in the year.

Ruby is mellowing with age (11), but still manages to ward off all strangers, delivery persons and the garbage truck. She joins us all in wishing you blessings in the New Year.

Manuel, Kim, Aria, Nadia, Natasha and Ruby
