The Bailey Family 2015 Christmas Letter

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
Cathy & Brooke Bailey

The end of 2015 finds all of us well and prospering and hope the same is true for you and your family!

This summer was a repeat of last summer. Liz and the grand kids were here for a substantial part of the summer. We all had a great time with sailing, surfing, water skiing, golf, boating, and swimming. Brent made it down for some weekends and the 4th of July. He was training for his second full Ironman which he successfully completed in October in Chattanooga. Liz is into yoga in a big way--both as a student and a teacher. She is in tip top shape!!

All of us went All of us went to Snowmass (Aspen) again for a week in February. We had a great time but could’ve used some more fresh snow! Cathy was a good sport about taking care of the rest of us as she doesn’t ski anymore! Brooke heads back out to Snowmass for the first two weeks of December for his 6th annual “boys” trip with friends.

Speaking of Cathy, this was an eventful year for her. After years of suffering with a painful back, she decided to have surgery for degenerative, age-related scoliosis. In the four hour surgery, the neurosurgeon fused L2, L3, L4, and L5 and dealt with some stenosis. She was very uncomfortable for about two months and then turned the corner. With physical therapy and lots of working out at the gym, she now “has her life back!” She is no longer on her daily doses of Celebrex and is feeling about as well as she can.

Because she recovered so well, we were able to take a two week planned trip to Prague and an Avalon Danube River cruise with three other couples. We all had a great time and Cathy held up remarkably well!

We attended two destination weddings this year at very nice locations. The first was in April for a friend’s daughter in Lyford Cay/Old Fort in the Bahamas. We were in a spectacular location and knew many of the attendees. The beaches are beautiful and all of the events were very memorable--our table at the reception was within feet of the breakers! Brooke’s first cousin’s son, Nick, was married in October in Sea Island, Georgia—another beautiful location. Their reception was absolutely gorgeous, also with a setting right next to the ocean with clear tents, chandeliers, incomparable flower arrangements, and a band that kept everyone hopping for hours!

Best wishes to you and your family. And, keep our troops in mind! Merry Christmas!
