2019    Merry Christmas     2019

This past June & July we took a super 25-day, 4800-mile road trip in the Vette through 11 states. We attended the Britton Cousins Reunion in Taylor NE; spent a week with our neighbors, the Grundstroms, at their Michigan home on the Upper Peninsula; spent a couple of days in Ft. Madison IA visiting Nita's aunts and cousins; stayed with Garry and Tina Dudley in Colorado Springs; and enjoyed Evanston WY over the 4th of July. Just can't beat a Corvette for a road trip - got over 27MPG.

Daughter Kathy stays busy at Nathan Adelson Hospice for three 12 hour night shifts per week. Nita and Kathy enjoy Broadway Musicals, Nevada Ballet and Concerts at the fantastic Smith Center in downtown Las Vegas. She made her Dad happy by replacing her 12-year old Hyundai with a new Subaru Forester Sport.

Second son Andy, daughter-in-law Spon and their children, Naomi (12) in 7th grade, Jonah (9) in 4th and Vance (4) recently moved into a larger home not far from their old one in San Ramon CA. Andy is completing his first year as Public Works Director for the City of Dublin. Andy and Jonah participate in Cub Scout activities. All three kids participate in gymnastics and the older two in Tae Kwan Do.

We are super happy that Jim, our oldest, and Fran Zenzen are engaged - no date set for the wedding. Jim's three children are doing great. Joe (24) is busy working in DC as a member of Senator Kyrsten Sinema's staff. Katie (22), a senior at George Mason, spent the summer working in Sitka, Alaska and is planning on being in the Peace Corps after graduation. Steve (18), a senior at Brophy Prep, played on the football and rugby teams this year. He is trying to decide on which college to attend after his graduation.

We are looking forward to our trip in May to Fairfax VA for Granddaughter Katie's graduation followed by her Brother Steve's High School graduation in Phoenix the following week. We hope to take some short road trips throughout the West next year. This month marks our 10th year in our Henderson home and it's time for some improvements. Pat has seen the new mid-engine Corvette and put a deposit down for a 2021 model - maybe the retractable hardtop convertible.
