Friends and Family;
We may have thought 2020 was in the past along with Covid, but it seems
there's still loads to overcome!
As retirees we still love to travel so we're very glad much of the US
was reopened but we are planning again for our overseas trip, third
time's the charm. We went to Disney early in the year while the crowds
were restricted, magical! Then we went again in October with our friend
Marian and her sister, still magical!
We were lucky to have Heather's Dad and Janet (step-mom) visit in April,
they were hoping to find warmer weather and friends, sadly the weather
didn't fully cooperate but the friends did. Around this time things
started reopening up at our theatre and we were back to ushering with
limited audiences and by the fall Broadway was Back. Likewise our local
University re-opened for in-person classes and Heather went back to
teaching knitting and Bruce took some interesting classes on Gospels,
Magic Tricks, and Space Travel (not together).
We got in an RV trip with visits to Heather's cousin and aunt in Oklahoma
then on to Colorado to see our friend Jan. The heat turned us away from
our planned route to Zion and Grand Canyon NPs but we diverted to Glacier
NP for a great time and better weather. We made several stops visiting
pastors and friends in Illinois and Pennsylvania then up to Acadia NP,
love it. As we turned south to SC we stopped in Albany, NY to see more
of Heather's family and then a stop in Hershey Park, PA.
Can you believe we managed to add a Disney cruise to the Bahamas (no
stopping please). The ship was about 25 percent capacity. But, because
we can't get enough of Florida we headed back to the Space Coast area
for Bruce's pilot training class reunion with a great turn out of graduates.
We took in the Kennedy Space Center (a must see), an airboat ride, and
an airshow with the Thunderbirds, all awesome!
As we closed out this year's letter we headed up to VA for Thanksgiving
dinner with Heather's sister and family, the Keating's and her Dad and
Janet. This was payback at its finest since they all traveled to our
place in 2019 before the word Covid was added to our daily vocabulary.
Before you know it, it will be 2022, wonder what awaits us there? We
hope and pray for more improvements in handling pandemics and our citizens.
If you're ever in the South Carolina area be sure to give us a call,
we have plenty of room. God bless!
Have a Blessed Christmas and Joyful
New Year
Heather and Bruce
