All is well with the Baileys and we hope the same is true for you!

We’ve taken a few trips this year! First trip, in March, was to Breckenridge and Vail, CO for some skiing. It was just Liz and eldest granddaughter Cate (third year UVA) and Brooke. We had great weather and good snow and a wonderful time!

Next we went to New York City in May for a nephew Gant’s wedding (sister Anne and Roger’s son). We stayed in brother-in-law Joe and Barbara’s time share, unfortunately, events prevented them from coming. The wedding was in Prospect Park in Brooklyn and was lovely! And, it was great to meet Daniel’s family! Also, we saw the famous “Woman in Gold” painting and toured several other museums.

Our last trip was to the Air Force Academy in September for Brooke’s 55th reunion (no, that isn’t a typo!). Had a wonderful time with many “old” classmates and their spouses. And, we toured the Academy’s impressive soaring (gliders) and parachute programs and enjoyed a great football victory!

Granddaughter, Cate, is studying premed at UVA and will take the MCAT’s this year. She spent the summer in Europe as part of the Jefferson study abroad program. Most of her time was in Italy, but she also saw friends in England and Majorca. Paige is a freshman at UNC and is loving it. She has great roommates and friends, as well as a close friend on the UNC football team (she has been to many games this year). Sam has had a busy year with working, baseball, and being part of his high school student government.. Will is focused on acting, singing, and dancing and had a nice part in his school’s musical. He attended an excellent summer program at Northwestern Univ, in Chicago, to enhance his skills and he continues to do many auditions for acting roles.

Liz and Brent are very busy with her yoga and his work, and keeping up with all of their kid’s activities.

We have had several trips to visit Liz and family in Charlotte and they have come here for parts of the summer. And, we kept Bear (their golden retriever) for 6 weeks!
