Jim Lyons

James Patrick Lyons, III

Jim LyonsJames P. Lyons, age 61, a resident of Erie died Saturday, November 25, 2006 at his home. He was born April 12, 1945 in Altoona, the son of Marie Connor Lyons and the late James P. Lyons. James was a graduate of the Air Force Academy and served as a captain during the Vietnam War. He started the company Consearch and later worked for Contemporary Motorcars. His hobbies included reading and golf. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Fran Walko and two brothers; Michael and Steve Lyons. Jim is survived by his two (adopted) daughters; Katherine D'Amico of Erie, and Diana Extein-Sterling of Calif., and her son Lucas Sterling. He is the brother of Patricia Phillips and her husband, Paul of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Barbara Kinnard of Las Vegas, Nev.; Cathy Kalinowski and her husband, Larry of Jefferson, Ohio; Timothy Lyons and his wife, Barbara of Ontario, Calif.; Mark Lyons of Mesa, Ariz.; Lisa Lyons of Punxsutawney; Lynn Williams and her husband, Greg of Altoloma, Calif.; Amy Jackson and her husband, Ron of Avon Park, Fla.; and John Lyons of Manhattan, Kan. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Jim's ashes were placed in the Columbarium at the Academy Cemetery on September 10, 2008 by members of the Class of 1968.
