Mike Lawson's Past & Present

Mike's car at the Academy - purchased at Phil Long Ford in the summer of 1967. A 1967
Mustang convertible he traded in when he deployed to SEA. Picture taken 28Feb68.

Here is Mike's retirement present to himself in July 1989 - a ’66 Mustang Fastback.
A real beauty Mike has had now for 20-years. I have just about completed the restoration of the 1966 Mustang fastback. Still dealing with the EFI learning how to run the gas flow to the engine. The 289 V8 engine came out of a 1965 Ford Ranchero. Now beefed up to 270+ HP and fully balanced. Power steering, power windows and door locks and power brakes. Installed a new Air conditioner but left the old housing in under the radio. The radio is now AM/FM/iPod/usb stereo and fits the original holes so no cutting on the dash. Hope to take it to Colorado in early summer this year to visit relatives in Breckinridge.

Ready for the new engine installation.

Here's the new motor.

New daily ride is a 2016 Subaru Forester.
