55th Reunion Planning Committee

Ben Stevens, Mark Torreano, Gary Vasek, Doug Wilson, and Bill Wood

Old Business:
o Bill Crimmel stepped up to be vice
chair of Reunion Planning Committee

Will chair 60th Reunion Planning Committee
o Dave Allen will be out of town in
September 2023 and resigned from the committee
o Barney Mills moving to Lancaster,
PA, not available to coordinate golf tournament
o Looking for date in September 2023

Works best for our maturity and interests

Won’t have exact date until football schedule is announced in
late March/early April 2023
o Asked for Antlers hotel

Centrally located

Possible conversion to condominiums, won’t know for awhile
•
Need backup plan, attack next meeting
New Business:
o Bill Wood suggested bypassing
AOG and reunion planning committee deal directly with vendors and
handle registration ourselves

After discussion, decision made to continue using AOG to handle reservations
and coordinate vendors
o Reviewed committee list and updated
(see attached committee list)

Clarified activities to be offered and identified leads for most
•
Still need leads for class dinner entertainment, Thursday evening
social, and Jacks Valley tour

Geo Roberts suggested for golf tournament lead, Gary will contact
Geo to confirm
o Registration gift

After discussion, a class decal (available through AOG?) will be the
registration gift
•
Other class branded items will be identified by merchandise committee
and available for purchase online
o Widows
and Next of Kin

Decision to invite all known widows and next of kin

Will need escorts widows and next of kin

Undecided on if and/or what financial support to offer to widows and
next of kin

committee on gift committee progress and presented project for 55th
reunion—memorial markers at USAFA cemetery

After discussion, gift committee recommendation was acknowledged
Next meeting will probably be in early November

AOG reunion representative not available until after 2022 reunion
season
•
Reunion Policies and Reunion Committee Planning Guide will be updated
based on 2022 reunion experience
