The Russell Family 2015 Holiday Letter

Greetings from Henderson, it's been a great year for the Pat Russell's. Oldest son Jim (46), Michelle, Joe (20), Katie (18) and Steve (14) stay very busy in Tempe AZ. Joe is in his second year at George Mason Univ in VA. Katie is a senior at Xavier HS, a Catholic girl's school in downtown Phoenix. Steve is in his final year (8th grade) at Our Lady of Mt Carmel. We're looking forward to attending two graduations next Spring in Tempe. Son Andy (42), Spon, Naomi (8.5) and Jonah (5.5) are doing well in San Ramon, CA. Naomi is growing up fast and enjoys third grade. "Little brother" Jonah is a kindergartener and likes playtime best! Daughter Kathy (37) stays busy at a cancer clinic where she is a primary care nurse. We had an unexpected nice event in May when one of the folks living in our old neighborhood decided to buy our old house before we put it up for sale. For almost nine years now, Pat has maintained the Class of '68 Academy Website. He also maintains the Britton Cousins website, his High School's class website and the local USAFA Association of Graduates Chapter website. We decided to take a more active roll next year in the Las Vegas Corvettes Association - Nita was elected Secretary and Pat continues as Webmaster.

The LeMans Blue 2006 Corvette Convertible is history - we sold it two months before picking up our new Laguna Blue 2015 Z51 Stingray Coupe on June 15th at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green KY. Prior to picking up the Vette, we were able to visit with three of Pat's cousins in Nashville. The Museum Delivery program is terrific - takes nearly all day and is extremely well done. Four folks per delivery can participate and one of Pat's ex-Air Force friends, Bob Shively and his hometown friend, Bill Easton were able to join us. We took two weeks to drive it home: visiting relatives in Ft. Madison IA; attending the Britton Cousins' Reunion in Taylor NE; staying with friends and visiting relatives in Ft. Collins and Colorado Springs CO; and staying with the Van Meter's in Aztec NV and seeing our old Vette which they bought. Our "Vette Quest" report is available here. We drove the Vette to show it to the San Ramon Russells and went on a Corvette Club trip in August to Utah, Idaho and Wyoming. We stayed with Madeleine Murdock in Pinedale WY and were able see some more cousins there.

We've been in the house in Henderson almost six years now. The decision last year to have solar panels installed has paid off - our electric bill is now 90 percent less. The neighborhood remains very quiet and convenient. Visitors and guests are always welcome at the Russell Inn. If you are planning a trip to Las Vegas - call and come visit!

Wishing you a memorable Holiday season!
Pat & Nita
